REACH registration of chemicals (reach certificate) is a permit for the import into the territory of the European Union of a certain amount of a chemical substance, both as part of a product and separately as a finished product
According to EU Regulation No. 1907/2006 REACH, chemicals can only be put on the EC market if they have been registered.
Registration of substances imported into the European Union by themselves or as part of preparations must be carried out by an importer from the European Union.
Manufacturers of substances or preparations outside the EU exporting them to the European Union are also required to complete the registration procedure for the chemical.
If the exported chemical or preparation is classified as dangerous, it is necessary to prepare and provide the importer with a Chemical Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS) in accordance with REACH requirements.
The REACH Regulation applies to all chemicals, excluding the following:
– radioactive chemicals;
– chemicals stored at customs offices, transported in transit and not releasing intermediate chemicals;
– waste (defined on the basis of legal acts in the field of waste management);
– with respect to some other substances, the provisions of the REACH regulation are partially not applied, in such cases, other, equivalent legal acts (for example, in the manufacture of medicines, in relation to chemicals used in biocides).
Special requirements are imposed on chemicals that are used in the field of scientific research, as well as on the registration of intermediate chemicals isolated at the place of production; Some substances made from natural sources and not chemically modified are exempt from REACH registration;
– natural minerals (ore), and products/goods made from them by mechanical or physical transformation, BUT without chemical exposure or chemical additives.
According to the REACH regulation, chemicals can only be manufactured or marketed in the European Economic Community if they have been registered by the manufacturer or importer.
